撮影はだんだん佳境になり、テンションもアゲアゲ。

この日は朝3時起床で、3時半には出発。テントも寝袋もたたまず車の中に放り込む

撮影はGIBB River Road沿いで、形の良いバオバブを見つけたのでそこで撮る。ただそのポイントがキャンプサイトから60kmぐらい離れているので夜明けの2時間半前に出発。真夜中のダートを走る。安全のためにMAX速度50km。しかもなんと途中に、前日に渡ったリバークロッシングがある。真夜中の川渡は初めての体験。

川に入る前に流れをよく見るのと、再度　暗闇に眼を慣れさせて、ローギアで一気に川をわたり切ります

The filming gradually reached its climax and the tension was building up.
On this day, we woke up at 3am and left at 3.30am. Tents and sleeping bags are not folded and thrown into the car.

I found a baobab along the GIBB River Road that was in good shape, so I took photos there. But that point is about 60 km from the camp site, so we set off two and a half hours before dawn. Ride on the dirt road in the middle of the night. And on the way there is the River Crossing, which we crossed the day before. It was my first experience of crossing a river in the middle of the night.

Before entering the river, we have to take a good look at the current and get our eyes used to the darkness again, so we cross the river at once in low gear.

撮影は朝の2時間に集中的に撮った。GFX100Sしっかり良い仕事をしてくれる。キンバリーに来るとカメラのアスペクト比が16:9, 25:64あるいは2:1が多くなる

このような撮影シーンではアスペクト比の変更できるミラーレスは強い。あとからのトリミングは構図が甘くなり、画面の緊張感がなくなる

I concentrated my shooting on two hours in the morning, and the GFX100S does a solid job. When you come to the Kimberley, the aspect ratio of the camera is often 16:9, 25:64 or 2:1.
Mirrorless cameras with the ability to change aspect ratios are strong in these situations. Cropping afterwards spoils the composition and the tension in the picture is lost.

朝の撮影が終わり、こんどはグレートノーザンハイウエイの終点　Wyndamに向かう

1999年　この町に雨季明けを町1週間近く滞在した

湿度00%近い雨季。キャンプ暮らしはかなりしんどかった。朝起きるとテントの床に自分の汗が貯まっていたことをあった。

そんあ辛い思い出のウインダム。最後に来たのは2001年。約22年ぶりの再訪。まずは全体を把握するために町はずれの展望台Five River Look Outに行く。ここはいくつかの川が交わりチモール海にそそぐところ。街の外は大湿地帯。なのでそこはクロコダイルの巣です

After the morning shoot, we headed back to Wyndam, the end of the Great Northern Highway.
1999 I spent nearly a week in this town at the end of the wet season.

Rainy season with nearly 00% humidity. Living in camp was quite hard. There were times when I woke up in the morning to find my sweat pooled on the floor of the tent.
I have such painful memories of Wyndham. The last time I was here was in 2001. It had been 22 years since I had last been here. First, I went to the Five River Look Out on the outskirts of town to get an overview of the whole area. This is where several rivers intersect and flow into the Timor Sea. Outside the town is a large marshland. So it is a crocodile's nest there.

We have a banana breakfast at the lookout and then head to the camp in town!

町には、巨大なクロコダイルのオブジェやクロコダイルカフェがあります。昔来たときはカフェはなかったな～～と思い、時の移りを感じます

ともかく町はずれのいたるところに、クロコダイル注意　泳ぐなという看板があります

The town has a huge crocodile sculpture and a crocodile café. When I came here a long time ago, there was no café... I feel the time has passed.
Anyway, there are signs everywhere on the outskirts of the town warning crocodiles not to swim.

町に唯一のキャラバンパーク。20年前に比べてきれいになっています

特にキッチンまわりがとトイレ＆ランドリー棟が綺麗になっています。そして設備も充実。プールもあります

もちろんwifiも使えます。あとキャラバンパーク内に巨大なバオバブの樹があります

1泊パワーサイトでお値段35$

The only caravan park in town, now cleaner than it was 20 years ago.

Especially the kitchen area and the toilet & laundry building are cleaner. And the facilities are excellent. There's even a swimming pool.
And of course, wifi is available. And there is a huge baobab tree in the caravan park.

Price 35$ per night for a power site.

朝が早かったので、ランチはインスタントパスタと眠り薬に赤い液体。そして寝ている間に大お洗濯タイムです

It was an early morning, so lunch was instant pasta and red liquid for sleeping pills. Then it's big laundry time while you sleep.

夕方は荒野で見つけたバオバブの樹と夕景を撮影してみっちりみっちり撮りました

The evening was spent photographing the baobab trees found in the wilderness and the evening view, and I took a lot of photos.

夜はオージービーフにトマトです

撮影が忙しかったのでカメラ4台使いまくりました。バックアップ作業　充電、機材点検清掃。忙しいです。明日も朝早いというか夜中から撮影なので8時半にはおやすみなさいでした

In the evening it's Aussie beef and tomatoes.
I was busy filming and used all four cameras. Backup work Recharging, equipment inspection and cleaning. It's been busy. Tomorrow we're filming again early in the morning, or rather from midnight, so we had a good night at 8.30am!
