木霊Spirit of Tree 写真展講評会最中

　ブログごらんの皆様、ご無沙汰しております。タスマニアの田舎にいるとなかなかネットにアクセスしてブログをUPするのが難しいのでご勘弁ください

おかげさまで写真展も好評です。以前にも会場写真ブログでUPしましたが一部手直しをしましたので再度アップしますのでご覧ください。

今回はギャラリー３部屋と外廊下を使い約８５点の作品を展示しております。Gallery1はタスマニア、Gallery2はアウトバックと呼ばれるオーストラリアの荒野の作品、Gallery3は日本の桜と紅葉を中心とした日本の樹のSpirit

今回の展示のコンセプトは地球のどんな場所でもこ母なる大地のSpiritは同じだということを展示したかったです。

今回は会場のご挨拶をブログにUPします。今回の展示のあらましを説明しております



ごあいさつ

今回でThe Wilderness Galleryでの作品展は３回目を迎えます。

前回　｢風林光山｣“Mother Earth”では地球の笑ったり、泣いたりお微笑んだりする地球のポートレイトとして風景写真をお見せしました。今回はさらに一歩進んで、地球上で何十億年も長生きしている植物に地球の意思が現れているのではと思い、植物を通じての地球のポートレイトをお見せいたしたいと思います。

Spirit of Tree は 日本語では木霊と書いて「こだま」と呼びます。
日本の自然にはその木霊が住むといわれています。木霊が日本の自然の摂理を司っているといわれています。木霊は大地が違えども、タスマニアやオーストラリア本土のアウトバックにも住んでいると思います。２２年間オーストラリアで写真を撮っているときいつも感じ、そして思っていたことがあります。自分の意志だけではなく、大地の木霊たちに写真を撮らされていると。

今回は日本の木霊たちと作り上げた作品も展示します。自分の個展で日本の風景写真を展示するのは初の試みです。ぜひダイナミックなオーストラリアの風景と、小さいながらも繊細な日本の風景の対比をお楽しみください。そこで感じていただきたいのは、植物たちの表面的な色や形、生育する大地は変われど木霊となって感じられる地球のSpiritは世界のどこでも同じだということです。

Greetings/Introduction

Kodama - Spirit of Tree is my third exhibition at the Wilderness Gallery. I am very happy to have this exhibition here at the Wilderness Gallery again in 2010.

In my previous exhibition, “Mother Earth (風Fu 林Rin 光Kou 山 Zan ~ Winds, Trees, Lights and Mountains)”, I have aimed to show landscapes as “portraits of the Earth”. In Kodama - Spirit of Tree, I have taken a slightly different approach to capture “portraits of the Earth”. I have aimed to capture desires of the Earth that are seen in trees and plants. Through them, I wanted to show “portraits of the Earth”.

In Japanese, Kodama means spirit of trees. It is believed a spirit lives in each and every tree. It is also believed that the sprits provide natural providence in Japan. I firmly believe that in Tasmania and the Australian Outback, the spirit of trees also exists. I have been taking the Australian landscape for over 22 years and I have often felt that my destiny to photograph this vast land was created not only by my own desires but also by the spirit of the land.

This exhibition includes Japanese landscape photographs which were created by the collaboration between me and the spirits of Japanese trees. It is the first time I exhibit the Japanese landscape photographs alongside Australian landscape photographs. I hope the comparison between the dynamic Australian landscapes and the small but delicate Japanese landscapes would add interesting contrasts in this exhibition. I hope that my photographs manage to express Kodama through textures, colours, and shapes of plants and trees and that we can feel the same spirit of the Earth everywhere.

撮影でだいぶ色が黒くなり、中国人ツアーのお客さんに「パキスタン人なの？」と聞かれたので「ジョージクルニーです」と答えておきました（爆）
